Not long after I was invited into the TERA Online’s open beta, I had the chance to select the TERA Lancer. The TERA Lancer is a tank. As a tank, the class is used to provoke enemies–draw aggro away from your comrades and direct them to you. I knew the Lancer was a tank but apparently I didn’t do a good job at drawing aggro away from my team-mates. Stuck at level 26, I became frustrated with the game not performing as well as I should. Perhaps the problem was me. Unsure of what skill rotations to use, I continued spamming each monster relentlessly believing I was a warrior (as with other games, I usually play warrior or mage classes). In conclusion, I wasn’t doing a good job of it. By the end of it all, I drew in very little aggro and gained very little success.PvP then became not so enjoyable…

I took matters into my own hands; I need a guide. I knew researching for a guide would take time that is, until I was introduced to a website by one of my online Lancer buddies. They told me to head over to Killer Guides. Currently the website contains available TERA guides. I headed over to the TERA section and read the Lancer’s descriptions. Still unsure of their product, I contacted their customer support for a sample of the guide. Looking through the sample, I was intrigued by the amount of information the guide offered: gold making strategies, top notch leveling tips, cutting edge information and so forth. I headed over to the TERA Lancer Reference Manual and purchased the guide for $29.99 USD; the guide comes in a downloadable PDF format. Luckily for me, I can view the document on other devices supporting PDF format! I was especially thrilled to get my hands on the guide before game release! Kudos to the author who got into the beta!
So, what does the guide offer at the price of $29.99 USD? The guide comes beautifully illustrated cover and over 80 pages of content. Because I was having issues leveling, I immediately headed over to the leveling section and walkthrough. I was impressed by how the author communicated their information with me; the guide was written out in clear, concise English lacking spelling or grammatical errors. Reading on, I was introduced a myriad of strategies which can be implemented against monsters, mobs and dungeon bosses. I was actually having fun in the game! The author described in detail how to use effective skill rotations against bosses, how to co-operate with my team mates forming a defensive and offensive strategy against the boss. PvP, now that I followed the guide was actually fun, especially in 5 on 5 Deathmatches.
I was particularly impressed with the guide, hands down. The author went through a lot of research and perhaps through trial and error to write this effective guide. It sure helped me! I tested each of the strategies and yep, they all work! If you’re a new player such as I am, you should pick up your copy of the guide today from Killer Guides. Take a leap of faith; it may change the way you play the game. I’m impressed with this guide I’m going to buy more of their guides, especially the TERA bundle. But I think in the long run, I think I’ll go and buy Killer Guides All Access Pass which is a one time purchase and customers (from asking customer service) can buy any guide on the website! Think about it: buying the AAP to download as many guides as you want! I think this is a very cool idea! So, from one gamer to another, I think the answer is clear here: head over to Killer Guides and check them out! You won’t be disappointed!
very lack-luster. The movement speed component is nice in PVP and the attack speed debuff is useful against bands in tight situations or in large groups of mobs. But I’ve never found this ability changing the outcome of a fight as much as I thought it would.
possibly the most over powered skill in your arsenal. It is basically a self shield that absorbs damage. It’s doesn’t absorb a lot of damage, but what makes this ability so good is it’s very short cool down. In PVE, this ability is good for pulling mobs so that your healer doesn’t have to worry about your health, at least not until you use your taunt. There are tons of other uses for this. For example, when you need to cast Challenging Shout on a group of mobs, you know you’re gonna have to lift up shield and take hits to cast the ability. It’s a good idea to pop Iron Will first and then taunt, to minimize the damage you take while you’re taunting before you get your shield back up.
The second of your last three utility abilities is a spell call Pledge of Protection. This is an amazing oh shit button for your party but not so much for yourself. This skill makes you take the damage of nearby teammates onto yourself which you can not block. In PVP, the good uses of this is to use it to save a healer when your enemies are going hard on them. In PVE it’s uses are limited. It’s good if you lose threat on something and have no way to get it back, you can use this ability to save teammates that do have threat and stop them dying.
